Dear Pediatric Network Member,
The forum is starting to come back to life. We wanted to let you know how to gain access to it, if you are one of the many members who has been unable to visit it lately.
As you are aware in May a hacker attacked our forum, along with around 9,000 other forums hosted by EzBoard. EzBoard has worked hard to restore the forum, but sadly many of the Pediatric Network's posts were lost. We have done our best to get it back up and running. Many of our members are back happily posting new threads, adding to old ones that were mostly deleted, or helping us to rebuild old threads they loved.
We are writing to those who shared their email address with us, but many of you are still unable get our updates if we do not have your private email address. If that is your situation, and you are reading this on the website, please get in touch with us and let us know. We will add your address to our mailing list.
As a result of the hacker's destruction about 80% of our membership files were deleted. After the attack only about 55 of our 350 registered members could log in. Around 40 of our original members have rejoined and are now able to post again. We have a small, core group of active members posting. Now we are hoping others will rejoin the group.
If you are a member who hasn't been able to access the forum, please reapply! Because the hacker deleted EzBoard's record of our memberships, we must rebuild EzBoard's list one member at a time. You can reapply using the same EzBoard user name and password that you've had all along. Here's how:
If you are unable to get to the forum, log into EzBoard with your user name and password. Then go to the Pediatric Network forum's home page (You can copy and paste this address into your web browser: http://go.ezboard.com/bpediatricnetwork). Click on the button to apply for membership. We will approve your application and then you will be able to access the forum again.
We have missed all of you who have not been able to log in, and hope to see you back reading and posting soon!!
As you will see in our rebuilt forum many of our threads are just...gone. If you were one of the members who printed off and saved some of the information in the forum we would love to have a copy of it so we can rebuild that thread, or maybe you can help us by reposting that information for us!! Or maybe you had shared some information or experience that was a popular topic. If you are so inclined we would love to have you start up a new thread with your past posts.
We also wanted to mention that both of our families have been hit hard by illness this summer. Meg and Rebecca are both undergoing difficult treatments, making this a challenging summer. Because of this, we are not able to spend as much time at the computer as usual. We are so thankful for the moderators and active forum members who reply to posts on the days when we are not able to be there. Whenever forum members reply to others' questions, share resources, and offer support, we are so appreciative.
We hope that you either are, or soon will be, logging in to the Pediatric Network and helping us to put the forum's crisis behind us. One thing we have learned is that we are one strong bunch of people, who have faced adversity and risen above it before and will do so again. This is only another bump in our road.
